Dennis VanderHouwen
Hi there! If you're curious to know a little more about me, I live in Colorado with my loving, supportive wife, my talented artist son, and my river dog and loyal companion, Fezzik—a 3-year-old shepherd mix. We also have Maggie, our sweet senior dog who's perfect in every way, and Nettle, our sometimes moody cat who never hesitates to let you know when she’s had enough attention.
I’m a practicing minimalist, a wood craftsman, a curious tinkerer, a lifelong learner, and, most passionately, a dedicated tenkara angler. I’ve been fishing tenkara exclusively for over 10 years, exploring waters across Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Washington. I’ve even been fortunate enough to cross the Austrian Alps off my fishing bucket list. I have enjoyed writing about my adventures and insights into tenkara on my blog and now write a regular column for Tenkara Angler Magazine called "Tenkara Lifestyes". Through my blog, I share how the simplicity of tenkara can enrich and inform your life. My goal is to help you find your own path, and I hope my writing and products guide you along the way. |
